I was born Milton Gago da Câmara Moura on the 16th of June, 1980 in S. Miguel Island, in the Azores. Went to a private college until I was 12 and then attended High School at E.S. Laranjeiras, graduating on the class of 1998.

I learned how to code on Turbo Pascal 7.0 during the summer of 1996 by drawing animations with Borland's BGI graphics. It was a matter of time before I fell in love with programming computers.
In mid-1997, I was given a 14k dialup internet connection and started trolling around IRC, #coders and some newsgroups.
By late 1998, I was writing assembly, C & C++ for programming these things called demos (you can try to run this one under DOSEmu) while listening to The Smashing Pumpkins, Bush & Garbage.

After graduating High-School, I enrolled the Mathematics & Computer Science degree at the Departamento de Matemática da Universidade dos Açores, graduating on June 2004.
During that time, I was able to teach myself how to program the web with PHP & Javascript, make Windows programs using MFC and Windows .NET and grew a slight aberration for Java, in favor of C#.

Also, around 2001 I grew very found of Python and evangelized whenever I could. Some people actually listened.
After graduating in 2004, I started my professional carrer at Globaleda were I developed desktop and web applications using C# and the Microsoft .NET Framework. I also engaged on some mobile development on the Windows Mobile platform and business intelligence projects using Microsft SQL Server Analysis & Reporting Services.

Year and a half later, I felt an urge to go back to school and was given the opportunity to work from home, in Lisbon, while I completed a Software Engineering post-graduation degree at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I had the time of my life.
Back in Ponta Delgada, I was involved in outsource consulting at EDA and also started a couple of web projects for Direcção Regional das Pescas using Ruby On Rails.

In the meanwhile, I joined the crazy people behind Belacena.com and had a lot of fun helping to create one of the most popular portuguese websites ever to come out of the RAA.
As new opportunities arose, I joined ZON Açores in November 2007, where, for a year and a half, I learned the ins and outs of a telco business, concentrating on systems administration, business reporting and application integration with J2EE technology.

As of today, I work at SATA International doing IT project managment, developing business-critical information systems and providing application support.
On my free time, I do freelance consulting on application development, system integration, media encoding and iPhone development.
